This test is performed by rotating Rectangular samples inside a slurry cup filled with an abrasive slurry of the required composition. The mass of the sample measured before and after the test and the difference in mass indicates wear due to slurry erosion.

The High Temperature Air Jet Erosion Tester is used to study the erosion resistance of a variety of materials. This tester subjects test samples to a jet of air carrying the required erosive particles. The angle of impingement can be changed and the erosion resistance is quantified by weight loss of the sample.
